Spays and Neuters

Here at RAH, we spay and neuter all kinds of animals!

We ask that all spays and neuters be dropped off at our hospital between 7 and 10 am.

Animals undergoing a spay or neuter can almost always be picked up the same day they are dropped off, typically around 4 or 5 pm.

Make sure your pet doesn’t have any food or water after midnight the night before their surgery date.

If you are a new client, or your pet has not been seen for an exam within the past year, they must be scheduled for an exam with Dr. Rossi prior to the spay or neuter. The exam must be performed before your pet’s spay/neuter date in order to ensure that they are healthy enough to undergo surgery.

Our reception staff is more than happy to supply you with a cost estimate for your pet’s procedure. It is important to note that the total given in your estimate will not fully reflect the total cost of your pet’s procedure. This is because certain items have variable costs. For example, the price of “general anesthesia” for your pet will depend on their weight. Medication is another variable cost. Different animals need different medications, and different doses of said medications.

To reiterate, the total cost of your estimate may not fully reflect the final cost of your pet’s procedure, because of the variable costs detailed above.

If you have any additional questions, or would like to schedule your pet to be spayed or neutered, call us at 904-388-3494.
