Vaccinations

Vaccine Clinic

Every Saturday we hold a Vaccine Clinic for existing clients who have had an exam with us within the past year. During Vaccine Clinic hours, all vaccines are $12 a piece. If you are not an existing client, you can schedule an exam along with vaccinations on a Saturday and receive the vaccine clinic prices!

Canine Vaccinations

Dogs most commonly receive the Rabies, Bordatella and Distemper vaccines. The Rabies vaccine prevents the transmission of the Rabies virus, spread through the saliva of infected animals. Bordetella protects against Kennel Cough, a highly infectious respiratory infection most often spread in boarding facilities, dog parks, etc. Distemper, otherwise known as DHLPP, is a combination vaccination that protects against distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and the parvovirus. We also offer the Canine Influenza vaccine. Canine influenza is a respiratory disease that is spread via direct contact with contaminated animals or surfaces.

Feline Vaccinations

Cats most commonly receive the Rabies and Distemper vaccines. The Rabies vaccine prevents the transmission of the Rabies virus, spread through the saliva of infected animals. Distemper, otherwise known as FVRCP, protects against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia. We also offer the Feline Leukemia vaccine, which is strongly recommended for outdoor cats. Feline Leukemia is an immunodeficiency virus spread through saliva, blood, urine and feces.

Exotic Vaccinations

Some exotic animals need vaccinations, such as ferrets, raccoons and possums. These exotic animals are typically given the Canine and Feline Distemper vaccinations, as well as a Rabies vaccination. However, many exotic animals do not need to be vaccinated. If you are not sure if your exotic pet needs vaccinations, you can call us at 904-388-3494. Our staff members will be more than happy to clarify!
